OPINION: AI-Driven Misinformation Is Affecting Local Elections
Conservatives hold truth and integrity as central pillars of their identity along with their support for President Donald J. Trump’s America First agenda. AI-driven misinformation presents a dangerous threat to our local election process. Across various levels of government from school boards to city councils artificial intelligence is being employed to influence voters while silencing conservative voices and eroding democratic values. Without immediate action from us, the radical left will deploy this technology to capture our communities’ core values.
The AI Threat to Local Democracy
AI technology now produces deepfakes and altered media which are actively being used to influence local elections. National elections in 2024 revealed the harmful applications of artificial intelligence. President Trump distributed AI-generated materials to reveal false liberal claims including unauthorized endorsements and altered video footage of Kamala Harris. The left is using AI to deceive voters in small-town America while our President used AI to fight fire with fire. Why? The defense or destruction of conservative values takes place during local elections for school boards, sheriffs and mayors.
Imagine this: A manipulated video falsely showing a conservative school board candidate making racist remarks circulates on X days before their upcoming election. AI technology enables robocalls from what seems like a trusted local pastor to mislead patriotic voters to abstain from voting. These aren’t hypotheticals. AI-generated robocalls used Joe Biden’s voice to suppress voting turnout during the New Hampshire primaries in 2024. The left’s tech supporters intend to saturate small communities with falsehoods during the intensifying local elections of 2025 as exemplified by Virginia’s gubernatorial race. Aware of conservative local dominance and Gallup’s 2024 findings where 54% of Americans demand factual campaigns over woke propaganda the left feels compelled to manipulate voter perception.
Why Local Elections Matter
Trump’s America First movement fundamentally depends on local elections as its core foundation. School boards determine whether children will study patriotic values or Critical Race Theory nonsense. Sheriffs protect Second Amendment freedoms or succumb to Biden’s agenda of gun control. City councils either approve economic measures endorsed by Trump or implement socialist rules. AI-generated misinformation poses a risk of overshadowing our communications. Harvard’s Misinformation Review research in 2025 demonstrated that 80% of Americans expressed concerns about artificial intelligence influencing elections. The concern is justified when the left-leaning Big Tech companies control algorithmic processes.
The left’s playbook is clear: AI serves as a tool for the left to damage conservative candidates during close elections. In 2024, AI generated images falsely depicted Trump alongside Jeffrey Epstein to damage his public standing. Local conservative candidates lack resources to respond which makes them simple targets. An artificial audio recording or a trending X post can influence undecided voters in small districts before accurate information surfaces. The Washington Post reported that X’s lax moderation creates the perfect setting for AI propaganda to flourish.
Trump’s Fight and Our Call to Action
President Trump knows the stakes. During 2024 he accused Big Tech of suppressing conservative voices while permitting AI-generated falsehoods to proliferate. The Truth Social platform launched by him served as a key space for revealing liberal fabrications including the artificial intelligence-altered CNN footage of Anderson Cooper. President Trump leads America toward a new golden age and local elections must be safeguarded from similar tactics. Here’s how:
Demand Transparency: State laws should mandate the labeling of AI-generated content in campaign materials. More than twelve states currently impose penalties on misleading deepfake content. As their 2025 elections approach, Virginia and New Jersey must take the lead in this initiative.
Boost Media Literacy: Conservatives need to teach voters how to identify AI-generated fake content. Teach patriots how to verify sources and detect unnatural video glitches in order to identify X-based AI fakes.
Support Local Candidates: Financial support should go to conservative candidates running for positions on school boards or as sheriffs. Funds will enable conservative candidates to deploy advertisements and legal teams to fight against AI-generated smears.
Use AI for Good: Take Trump as your model and employ AI technology to produce content which reveals liberal double standards. Trump’s message receives amplification through existing meme teams on X.
The Path Forward
The radical left has intentions to weaken public confidence in our electoral system by repeating the 2020 “stolen election” falsehoods. The radical left now relies on AI misinformation as their weapon yet conservative groups remain tough and persistent. Our movement has successfully resisted fake news while also standing strong against Big Tech censorship and RINO betrayals. We need to defend our movement’s foundation by protecting local elections against covert sabotage from AI technology. Trump stated our mission to make America great again begins with our hometowns.
